Marie passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at St. Benedict’s Health Center.

Marie Magdeline was born in Beulah, ND on July 18, 1934, the daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Schutt) Fetch. Growing up she attended school in Halliday. Marie was married to August Fettig at a young age. To their union, Larry, Stella, Valentine “Val”, and LaVern “Vern” were born. Together the couple raised their family on a farm which was located on the “Big Flat” north of Marshall. In 1959, they moved into Dickinson. Marie worked at the Ray Hotel and the Eagles Club. She was then asked by Marvin Moos to start and manage the Sandwich Shop, which she managed alone for many years, and the Donut Hole. Marie began working at Baker Boy at its original location downtown and later at the new plant. She retired in 1993. She enjoyed crocheting, watching birds, TV, gardening, cooking and flowers. Marie also loved dancing and listening to polkas and waltzes. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Her children and grandchildren brought her much joy and she loved family gatherings.

Marie is survived by her sons, Lawrence “Larry” (Shirley) Fettig of Gladstone, Valentine “Val” (Carla) Fettig of Billings, MT; daughter, Stella (Allen) Parke of Federal Way, WA; brothers, Edward (Shirley) Fetch of Dickinson, Joe (Jean) Fetch Jr. of Billings, MT; sister, Margaret Fetch of Billings, MT; long-time friend, Angie “Knaup” Hellman; five grandchildren, Craig (Robin) Fettig, Tenille (Trey) Weyer, Christopher (Sarah) Parke, James Parke, Nichole (Bryon) Heiser; ten great-grandchildren, Elaine, Conner, Austin, Kaydence, Turner, Trinity, Hannah, Elizabeth, Spencer, Alex, Connie.

She was preceded in death by husband, August; son, LaVern “Vern”; grandson, Jon Paul Fettig; sister and brother-in-law, Pauline (DuWayne) Fricks; brother-in-law, Mike Michaels.

Larry, Shirley, Tenielle, Kaydence, Austin and families,
So sorry to hear about Marie. Leo and I enjoyed our times spent with her, especially the Christmases, smiling, as she was surrounded by presents and happy grandchildren. She always had that mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Just like Kaydence and Tenille do now. Take care. I know she'll be watching over you with Jon by her side.
